The Cyalume SnapLight is a yellow industrial quality chemical light stick measuring six" lengthy, for providing instant 360 degree illumination, that can be seen up to a mile absent for up to twelve hrs in optimal circumstances. The SnapLight is water-resistant, non-poisonous, and non-flammable. To activate the light stick, bend, snap and shake the tube. The light stick has a hook and gate leading, for hanging or attaching the light. Each light stick is individually foil-wrapped for defense from light and moisture, and has up to a 5-year shelf existence from date of manufacture.
The tough, water-resistant, exterior entire body of the light stick is produced from reduced density polyethylene (LDPE), and is phthalate free of charge for security. The internal illuminating chemical substance is non-poisonous and non-flammable, and the parts of the light stick are recyclable. The light stick floats in water and functions ideal amongst forty to 80 degrees F (4 to 27 degrees C), and though the light stick functions at larger or reduced temperatures, it is significantly less powerful in colder temperatures.
All sticks are tested at a temperature of 72 degrees F (22 degrees C) to determine the illumination length. Each ten-degree C (50-degree F) improve or lessen in temperature doubles or halves the reaction price, and for that reason the brightness and length. For instance, the same light stick that emits about 30 lux (a device that describes how significantly light is visible around a sq. meter) at 15 minutes soon after activation at 24 degrees C (seventy five degrees F) will be 50 % as vivid but glow twice as lengthy at 14 degrees C (fifty seven degrees F). At 34 degrees C (93 degrees F), the same light stick would be twice as vivid, but glow 50 % as lengthy. Storage at elevated temperatures (above 120 degrees F or 49 degrees C) will lessen shelf existence and start off to soften the plastic tube, and improve the chance of a leak. Coverage to chilly temperatures will not impact the light sticks if they are warmed above forty degrees F (4.5 degrees C) prior to activation, unless of course they are frozen (which occurs at -15 to -twenty degrees F, or -26 to -29 degrees C). The moment light sticks have been frozen, they will nevertheless make some light, but performance will not be as reputable. Humidity and atmospheric circumstances do not impact the light sticks.
Mild sticks are chemiluminescent substances in plastic tubes that give hrs of illumination in a number of security, industrial, and military applications. Mild sticks are water-resistant, non-flammable, and non-sparking, which can make them useful in dangerous circumstances where sparks or flame could cause an explosion. Length is determined by the chemistry of the formulation. Brightness is impacted by temperature: the warmer the temperature, the brighter the light will show up. Viewing length can be impacted by temperature, moisture, and other elements. Coverage to direct sunlight can decrease shelf existence and effectiveness.
Cyalume Technology manufactures chemiluminescent items utilized for security, industrial, and military applications. The company, launched in 1970 and headquartered in West Springfield, MA, can make items beneath ChemLight and SnapLight brand names. ChemLight items meet military specifications, and the company meets ISO 9001 requirements.
